Dementia poses many challenges, both for people struggling with it and for those close to them. Doll therapy can comfort those with dementia. Evidence shows the use of empathy dolls may help reduce agitation and anxiety and improve overall quality of life in people living with dementia. The way people living with dementia experience the world can change as the disease progresses. Their sense of reality or place in time can become distorted, which can cause agitation and distress. One of the best ways to support people experiencing changes in perception and behavior is to manage their environment. This can have profound benefits including reducing the need for sedatives.

Our Story
Dolls for Dementia is dedicated to providing comfort and companionship to individuals living with dementia. Dolls for Dementia was founded and is led by two hospice RNs and a hospice CNA. We are proud to have been honored with the ability to serve in such a sensitive and special area of care.
Our mission is to enhance the lives of those with dementia by promoting emotional well-being and connection. We believe in the power of non-pharmacological approaches such as doll therapy, pet therapy, art therapy, and music therapy to bring comfort and improve quality of life for individuals and their families.
